[Cross Country] Phalen Named To KCAC Men's Cross Country Preseason TeamPublished by
WICHITA, Kan. – Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference cross country coaches have selected the 2018 KCAC Men's Cross Country Preseason team. The group is made up of top returning runners of 2017. Rolando Phalen made the list for the Warriors. Phalen made it to the 2017 NAIA Cross Country Championships in Vancouver, Washington as only the third male in SC history to ever qualify for the Championship Meet. Student-athletes highlighting the 2018 preseason team are: Phillip Lagemann (Sr., Saint Mary), Ian Meek (So., York), and Luke Skinner (So. Saint Mary) Lagemann was the individual champion at the KCAC Championship last season, posting a time of 25:49.97, helping the Spires finish first and qualify for the NAIA National Meet. The St. Louis, Mo. native went on to place 10th at the NAIA Championship with a time of 25:02. Meek placed 75th at NAIA nationals in 2017 (26:15). The Montrose, Colo. native finished fourth in the KCAC Championship with a time of 26:27.55. Skinner finished close behind at the KCAC Championship with a time of 26:39.64, good for fifth place.
